Expo began as a single annual event on the banks of the Yarra river in Warrandyte village, appropriately called Pottery Expo @ Warrandyte. After several wonderfully successful Warrandyte events it was time for Pottery Expo to expand. Between 2003 and 2005 the Pottery Expo was held at the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park at 390 McClelland Drive, Langwarrin (4 kms east of Frankston). The ceramic artists present their work in the Sculpture Park around the lake, in front of the gallery. This coincided with the McClelland Survey and Award 2003 for outdoor sculpture. In 2005 Expo again expanded to incorporate another new venue. A one day exhibition was held in the prestigious Atrium at Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne. This was an outstanding success that has since become an annual event. Pottery Expo was also held at Gapsted Winery near Beechworth in N.E. Victoria in March of 2006 and 2007. At
each Expo there will be demonstrations of pottery making techniques, clay activities
for the public, music and food. TAFE Colleges and Universities are regularly represented. A variety of trade exhibitors
will have clay, glaze information, books and other helpful services. For articles about some previous Expo events click here Information for exhibitors Click here for application information
